b'2024 Social Impact ReportMural artist Shianne Schorr created"ONE/sand," a two-story mural that servesas a bridge connecting our past, present, and future, emphasizing our commitment to a flourishing community that lives in harmony with nature.ONE/sand represents a vital connection between land and sea. "Na wahine" represents sand, with her hair outlining Kauais coastline, connecting us to the land and waters that sustain us. Kalukalu, a native grass that once grew prolifically in the moku of Puna, is depicted in a quilt pattern that represents a safe, regenerative space for our collective talents to strengthen the social fabric of the island. The ahupuaa system reflects ancient practices, reminding us that water is essential for our collective well-being. TheONE/SAND:raw plywood of the mural symbolizes a new era in community banking, reflecting our journey toward a future where all members of our community can thrive. We thank Shianne for her talent andThe Kalukalu at 1624 Mural Storyaloha, and her invitation to local keiki to add their hand prints to the mural in blue, representing hope for the future. When passing by ONE/sand at 1624 Kuhio Highway, remember it was crafted by a Kauai-born artist with love. The ongoing construction is part of our living story.12 13'
