The Kauai Commons Incubator is a locally driven initiative to amplify the inherent knowledge and leadership of Kauais people. The program blends Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) with the successful strategies of biomimicry to empower local businesses and leaders to build regenerative, thriving enterprises that sustain the islands people, culture, and environment. At its heart, Kauai Commons is about building capacity for Kauais people to steward a cooperative economy that honors culture, community, and climate. KAUAI COMMONS It ensures that local voices, knowledge, and leadership are at the forefront of creating a balanced, more harmonious, socio-ecological and economic system for Kauai."We value our natural environment so much we want to put it at the front of our priorities. Piloting the Mastermind:The Founding GroupWe have to be bolder in our decision making and The initial cohort of businessesincludingcourageous in what we invest in, to create modelsWaiwai Collective, Common Ground, Uea that give back to the place that we come from."Design, Noho Workshop, G70 and Malama Huleiawill lay the foundation for the incubator.Mason Chock Together, we will develop a replicable model for future Mastermind groups to link biomimicry with TEK to help businesses thrive.
