b'2024 Social Impact ReportOur work on the First Time Home Buyer Program and Cesspool to Septic Conversion Loans earned Kauai FCU Filene Research Institutes inaugural Catalyst Award and a $10,000 prize. Out of eight teams, Kauai FCU and Hawaii Community Assets (HCA) were recognized for a commitment to advancing racial economic equity through community-driven solutions. Through this program, we provided innovative and climate-forward financing products to address the inequitable distribution of homeownership for Native Hawaiian and local people. The products included a Down Payment Bridge product, Cesspool to Septic Conversion loans, and direct member technical assistance for local government grant programs.
