2024 Social Impact Report 11 Visionboarding Workshop 11 10 2025 Social Impact Report A Space to Dream Every year has to begin somewhere. In 2025, it began here at Kalukalu at 1624, with magazines spread across tables, markers uncapped, and twelve community members willing to get quiet enough to ask themselves a question most of us don't make enough time for: what am I actually building toward? The Visionboarding Workshop was the first community event of the new year at Kalukalu at 1624, and in many ways, the perfect one. Before the workshops and the markets, the career fairs and the fishpond, the trivia nights and the thrift sales, there was this: a room full of people cutting out images and words that called to them, assembling something honest about their hopes on a piece of poster board. Visionboarding is, at its heart, a financial wellness practice. It asks you to name what you want before you can plan how to get there. It connects the emotional to the practical, the dream to the deposit, the goal to the budget, and the future to the choices you make today. That alignment between aspiration and action is something Kauaʻi FCU deeply believes in, which is why opening the year this way, in this space, felt exactly right. Kalukalu at 1624 was built to be a place where the community can grow. The Visionboarding Workshop was its first invitation of 2025, and 12 people said yes.
